September 2026 – Consider the last time you streamed a video, checked a work email, or bought a piece of finished wood for a home project. You expect those systems and products to work without a hitch. That seamless connection happens because of the people managing our regional infrastructure, supply chains, and technology hubs every day.
Ryan Beebout started at Sabey Data Centers fifteen years ago in an entry-level position before growing into his role as Regional Vice President. Anthony Popelier grew up around trades, worked his way up over twenty-six years, and now serves as Plant Manager for Oroville Reman and Reload. Both grew into their roles by stepping outside their comfort zones and taking on new challenges. Today they serve on the SkillSource board, bringing real-world industry perspective to how we train and retain workers across our region.
In our latest Common Thread conversation, Ryan and Anthony dug into the word “bandwidth” — tracing its physical roots from sawmill saw blades and reload yards to fiber optic networks. They shared how their operations adapt to regional challenges like wildfire timber disruptions, power constraints, and shifting staffing needs in rural communities. They also talked about human capacity: why internal mentorship matters, how automated tools protect workers from high-risk physical labor, and the personal habit of setting boundaries to make it home for dinner with family.
Thank you to Ryan and Anthony for a lovely conversation, and for sharing their time, insights, and leadership to keep our regional workforce moving forward.
The next Common Thread conversation will take place in November 2026. The Zoom link for the next conversation will be published on the SkillSource events calendar.
