Re-entry, Skills, Employment, & Training

August 13, 2025 SkillSource Regional Workforce Board, in partnership with South Central Workforce, Yakima County, and People for People, has been awarded a Pathways Home 6 grant from the U.S. Department of Labor to launch RESET: the Re-entry, Skills, Employment, and Training Program. RESET will serve incarcerated individuals in Chelan and Yakima County jails, offering career readiness, industry training, and connections to employment both before and after release.

While this initiative is new, the approach is not. SkillSource has long supported individuals transitioning from incarceration through work-based training and wraparound support. RESET builds on that foundation—meeting people earlier in their journey and sustaining support through reentry.

“This new investment allows us to deepen our partnerships and reach people before they’re released, when planning and support can make the biggest difference,” said Lisa Romine, CEO of SkillSource. “RESET is an extension of the work we’ve done for years—connecting people with training, community, and careers.”

Toby Haberlock, Career Training Manager at SkillSource Wenatchee, shared, “RESET is all about helping people successfully transition back into their communities and the workforce, with the overall goal of reducing recidivism and setting people up for long-term success.”

RESET is expected to serve around 400 total individuals in Chelan and Yakima counties through 2028. In collaboration with Chelan County Regional Jail, second-chance employers, and training partners across key industries—including healthcare, construction, logistics, clean energy, and advanced manufacturing—SkillSource will help individuals move into jobs that offer stability and growth.

SkillSource’s experience supporting reentry includes stories like these:
