Dislocated = Re-routed.
Nathan’s path to a new career required new skills and guided support. Due to layoffs and a previous occupation that was no longer in demand, Nathan sought guidance through the WorkSource Center in Moses Lake to explore options that would lead to long-term stability.
When dislocated workers like Nathan come in for an orientation, they learn about the range of support options that are available through the workforce partner agencies, and from there often come in for a career assessment workshop with SkillSource. This was how Nathan learned that the transportation field offered in-demand careers with sustainable wages, and opportunity for growth.
Nathan’s career trainer at SkillSource helped him pursue his newfound goal to earn his CDL Class A license and find steady employment as a driver. SkillSource offers personalized support to navigate eligibility and resources available through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), reducing financial barriers to enrollment in training programs. Because of this support and Nathan’s dedication, he successfully enrolled and completed his training at T. Enterprises Truck Driving School and is now a credentialed CDL driver.
The layoff was a re-route, not a dead end. And today Nathan is employed full-time with Infrasource Construction in a solid career that’s going places.
